Pukulan Kung Fu once consisted of only two ranks. You were either a white belt or black belt. To create the feeling of acheivment ranks were created in between to benchmark your progress through the art. All of the details to acheive each rank is catagorized by the belt worn. Sashes with golden fringe are presented to those that are closest to the instructor and normally will run class in the absence of the instructor. Those that have a sash with golden fringe are titled as "Golden Boys".
